Chiyonosono was founded in 1896 in Yamaga City in the Kumamoto prefecture.
The city is known throughout Japan for its heritage sites as well as its thermal spa. The quality of the local spring water, purified by the volcanic soil of Mount Aso, makes it an exeptional location for producing saké.

The kura, built in 1896. President Masaharu Honda.
